Paddle Raise 2025
This year’s Paddle Raise is dedicated to an essential project: classroom restorations.
In recent years we have focused on significant exterior improvements, including adding the arcade structure, resurfacing the blacktop, introducing the new red play structure, upgrading the perimeter fencing, placing gravel and replacing mulch under the blue play structure. Now our attention turns to the interior, specifically to the north wing classrooms 1 through 6.
Our goal is to raise $70,000 to complete the following upgrades this summer:
- Asbestos abatement of the existing tile flooring
- Installation of new, durable flooring
- Ceiling repainting to refresh the six classrooms
The asbestos abatement will be completed by a Washington licensed professional abatement company, ensuring the space is fully cleaned and prepared for the installation of new flooring. We understand that the mention of asbestos may raise concerns, please be assured that:
- Asbestos is considered safe if undisturbed, and our school monitors it continuously.
- Mr. Askman, our facilities supervisor receives annual training in asbestos management and safety protocols.
It takes just one generation to make this change for many to come and we thank you for being that exceptional generation of parents, family and friends to provide this necessary restoration for current and future students.
